The evidence for God

So many look for evidence of God and seem not to find it. I have heard, “I need to see a miracle”, “I need to see suffering in the world end”, and other comments. These are all nothing but lame excuses to not believe in God.

Evidence for God:

  1. How about the most complicated technical original creation in the world, humans.
  2. How about birds that can fly thousands of miles home, having never been there before.
  3. How about animals that naturally know what to do in a given situation by “instinct”.
  4. How about the universe itself; scientists say it should not even exist.
  5. How about the earth, do you REALLY believe this extremely complex ecosystem got here all by itself?
  6. How about your own conscience, where do you suppose that came from?

  1. I’m wondering Greg if you might do a blog series expanding on each one of your points. I feel like it could really bless a lot of people. It’ll help Christians with defending the faith and maybe others who are considering Christianity might be willing to re-examine the evidence.

I’m planning to do a series on this myself also later on in the year.

  2. Romans 1:19-23 makes all those excuses no more than excuses.
God has already put evidence of Himself “within” them and has further given evidence in His creation.

I think J C Ryle had a point when he wrote: Of all the doctrines of the Bible, none is so offensive to human nature as the sovereignty of God”

It isn’t so much a case of man not believing in God, as it is of man not WANTING to believe in God, for the very instant he acknowledges there IS a God, he becomes subject to that God.

    • Very good answer. Been there done that, I did not WANT to acknowledge God as I was angry about my parents divorce…but that was just an excuse.
Thankfully our Lord is merciful and accepts the prodigal…in this case me!
